THE MAASAI TRIBE

The Maasai tribe is a unique and popular tribe because of their long and well preserved culture and lifestyle despite westernization.
Their rich and distinctive culture contributes to them being one of East Africa most famous tourist attractions. Indeed, when visting Kenya or Tanzania, it is almost impossible that your tour package to Maasai Mara don't include a tour to a Masai Village, and though exciting as it is, I was not and I'm still not yet comfortable with that idea. Putting myself in their shoes, I came to realize that what is supposed to be a cultural exchange sometimes turns out to be an entertainment or even a 'tourist trap' as I've heard many stories of 'made up Maasai villages' for tourists where people pretend to be Maasai when they are not ( so be careful).
For the reasons mentioned above, I instead decided to go to a museum. Although stopping in Arusha was a way for me to go to Moshi Waterfalls , going to the Maasai Museum was also a MUST! (Yessss guys, Tanzania is more than Zanzibar & DarEs #FlashNEEEWS)
So flush away the preconceived ideas you might have about Maasai and learn with me :)
