Kenyan tourist visas
The process of getting a visa to Kenya is very easy.
Most people do need a visa except citizens from most East African countries (Lucky you!)
However, the good news is that most nationalities are eligible for a visa on arrival and an e-visa. (honestly, the best and quickest option)
Please, do check if your passport allows you to
All tourist visas, either be online or on arrival, are generally valid for three months and cost the same:
Single entry: 50 USD
Multiple entry: 100 USD
Transit visa: 20 USD

Visa on arrival: Although not the best option since it can take forever if there are a lot of passengers (generally there are), it is a viable option if you didn’t have time to apply online.
You must have a passport with at least six (6) months of validity, a return ticket, and to be safe and able to fill the immigration disembarkation card, the address of the place you will be staying at and a contact person in Kenya (it can be a friend, your hotel’s number, guide’s number etc).
E-visa: Although the best and quickest option, it only allows you to apply for either a transit visa or a single-entry visa. A single-entry visa allows you to get in the country only once. This means that if you leave the country you will not be able to come back unless you apply for another visa online or on arrival.
To apply, you must create an account on the Kenyan E-visa website. Be prepared to scan or take a picture of your passport bio’s data page, of any additional documents that could make your case easier (invitation letter, safari booking confirmation etc), and a passport size photo.
NB: If you want a Multiple entry visa, DON'T APPLY FOR THE E-VISA. Please wait until you land in Kenya to apply for a visa on arrival, at the airport, for a fee of 100 USD.
The Gem: THE East Africa visa
This is one of the most amazing things African countries came to do when it comes to tourism. Sadly few people know about this and miss out on bigger opportunities to explore more of East Africa.
Sooooo what's the East Africa visa? It's a visa that allows you entry in three different African countries: Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda for the single cost of 100 USD! Valid for three (3) months, the visa includes free entry and re-entry in those countries which means you can travel between those countries as much as you want.
More details can be found on the following government websites:
The good thing is you don't need to fly to visit all those countries, they are neighbors and have an effective bus system that can bring you in each of those countries mentioned.
#Reminder: it only costs 100 USD
HAVING A VALID YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION CERTIFICATE IS A MUST WHEN TRAVELING TO KENYA AND ANY OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRY IN GENERAL. If you don't have one, you might be able to get a shot at the airport but I don't recommend it.
Overall, getting a Kenyan visa is a piece of cake:). However, I strongly recommend you to apply for the East African Visa ( even if visiting those countries isn't part of your plan, we never know) and visit as much as you can. If you have any questions or need help planning your trip, let me know!
