In the heart of one of the most impressive canyons in the world... Antelope Canyon

This is gonna be a short article since I don't have much visual material to back me up but definitely keep in mind that this place is even more impressive in real life...  So what do you need to know before you visit?

1. Be ready to be wowed!

I have been to many places, including the Grand Canyon but this was one place that left me in awe and I haven't been in awe since Zanzibar and Mauritius...

2. Plan to stay at least 2 days

It's likely that tours get cancelled for weather reasons, so plan on staying at least 2 or more days just in case this happens.  Our tour got cancelled the morning we had it and our flight was the same day back in Phoenix. We desperately had to find one that would allow us to get back in Phoenix on time and the next tip is of the upmost importance

3. Book your tour in advance

You have a lot of tour companies in Page for the canyons, from the affordable to the more expensive ones so investigate well before choosing,  read the reviews (size of groups, guides and tours quality) and BOOK!

You could also walk-in but booking is better because these companies can be booked for up to a year after so for the sake of the flight and the drive you had, please book in advance.

4. You need a car!

The Antelope Canyon is in Page and it is a 4 to 5 hours drive from Phoenix. I highly recommend that you take an SUV if you can afford it, just in case something bad happens #StoryTime

5. Cover up!

Hot girl summer but we don't want a burned skin! Cover up, especially if you go during the summer (we went in August). Arizona is EXTREMELY hot, burning hot, oven hot, hot sauce and I promise that "man will be hot" 🔥. Get that sunscreen, sneakers, those glasses and cover-up (unless you want a tan or a grill...)

6. Pack up!

Once in the canyon, there is no way back until the tour is done. Given the extreme heat, take AS MUCH WATER as you can with you, it is a walking tour, you can be dehydrated faster than you think. Also, make sure your phone is fully charged, it will be a shame to visit such a place and have no memories.

7. Iphone users

Not the best phones on the market (we gotta be honest), but your phone might stop working because of the heat (see image attached). There isn't much you can do about it but I hope it doesn't stop at the best parts of the Canyon .

Another thing is that Samsung camera gets better pictures because they are already contrasted, for Apple users, you will need to use the 'warm filter' to get the best of the canyons.

6. Now, it's not all about pictures...

It's also about the culture and the history behind these canyons... They are nature marvellous constructions but they also have a significant meaning for the Indian tribe so pay attention to what your guide says. (Can't elaborate on this since I lost my notes and I don't want to mislead you so you tell me when you go!)
